Imagine being chained to a tree for years…
given just enough food and water to stay alive. Alone, afraid, confused, depressed. A victim of the elements day after day, night after night, year after year after year.
That was Shep’s miserable existence before we rescued him. Now Shep spends his days on a sofa or running free in his large fenced yard. You would think his ordeal would make him angry and mistrustful. But his new owner reports she has never met a gentler, more trusting dog in her life.
Unfortunately, Shep’s story is not unique in Baldwin County. He is only one of many animals abused, abandoned and neglected every day. The problem is only compounded by the current economy.
The need has never been greater. That is why we ask you to help us help them by making as generous a gift as you can today.
Because of people like you, Shep is one of the lucky ones. He got a second chance and is in a loving, caring home. He is safe, secure and yes, pampered. Because of people like you, we have rescued, cared for and placed abused and abandoned animals into loving foster and adoptive families since I and a small group of people founded the Baldwin County Humane Society more than thirty years ago.
Won’t you open your heart and give us the funds we need to continue our important work? We receive no government funding. We operate solely on grants and donations from the public. Your gift is tax deductible and will help us give animals like Shep the second chance they deserve.
Please send your gift today. We urgently need it to continue our work on behalf of animals in Baldwin County who like Shep hope for a second chance.
Thank you on behalf of the animals.
