WORLD FAMOUS FRISBEE DOGS COLLECT FOR BARC! PET FOOD PANTRY
The World Famous Frisbee Dogs, the Disc-Connected K-9s, collected for the BARC! Pet Food Pantry at the Dog Days of Summer at Spanish Fort Town Center held August 21-22, 2010.
“At the shows, I tell the audience the rescue story of the dogs from a shelter, a puppy mill or an abusive environment,” remarked Lawrence Frederick, owner and trainer of the eight Disc Connected K-9s. “I remind people how important it is to support the local animal welfare agencies who rescue every day.”
Sonja Presley, BARC! Executive Director commented “We were elated that the Disc Connected K-9s were back in town. Once again, they collected hundreds of pounds of dog food, cat food and cat litter throughout the five performances. “
The BARC! Pet Food Pantry has given away 15,079 pounds of food to 4,078 dogs and cats since it launched in May 2010. They have provided pet food to 1,350 families for an average of helping 84 families a week.
